Questions, answered

What is define:ag?

define:ag is a dairy analytics platform built with and for farm advisors. It turns milk recording, parlour and health records into live, interactive dashboards shared between advisory organisations and the farms they support, with AI-assisted analysis on top.

Who subscribes — the farm or the practice?

The advisory organisation (vet practice, consultancy or co-op) holds the tenancy and invites its team and farm clients. Farmers get access through their advisor at no extra per-user cost.

How is it priced?

A simple monthly rate per animal under management, with optional premium packages for additional datasources and AI features. No per-seat fees — invite your whole team and every client.

Which data sources do you support?

Milk recording (NMR, CIS), parlour and farm software exports, medicine and accounts records, plus sensors, genetics and weather feeds on the Datasources+ package. Data loads automatically every night.

Who owns and can see the data?

The farm’s data belongs to the farm. Access is enforced herd-by-herd on every query: advisors see the herds they manage, farmers see their own, and nobody else sees anything. We never sell or share data.

My vet practice already uses define:ag — how do I get in?

Use the “Request access” button on your practice’s define:ag page. You create a secure account, your practice administrator approves it, and you are attached to your herd — usually the same day. While you wait you can explore a full demonstration herd.

How does the AI use my data?

The AI assistants answer with the same herd-scoped access controls as the human user asking. Your records are never used to train models and never leave the platform.

Is there a minimum term?

Tenancies are monthly and you can cancel any time from the billing portal. Your data remains exportable for 90 days after cancellation.
